Round Rock Roundup

Round Rock Roundup

Round Rock is named for an actual round rock, which rests in the bed of Brushy Creek on the west side of the city. Continuing further west, down Hairy Man Rd (a colorful local legend), you’ll arrive at the Brushy Creek Trail, which meanders into Cedar Park and a 38-acre recreation park and lake. The largest in the city’s parks system is Old Settler’s Park, adjacent to the Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express. For less strenuous recreation that is within reach of a glass of wine, there is bocce under the trees at Wine Sensation in downtown.

Do you have Swimming Hole Regret? That is to say, did you have grand plans this summer to visit swimming holes across Central Texas but didn’t, and now they’re closed for the season? While you daydream these next few months about those cool waters and gorgeous natural settings, save-the-date for May 1, 2018 when Jacob’s Well reopens for its swimming season. This Wimberley location always makes the top 10 lists for Central Texas swimming holes, and for good reason; it’s absolutely magical.
